The LT3086 is a multi-feature, low dropout, low noise 2.1A linear regulator that operates over a 1.4V to 40V input supply range. Dropout voltage at 2.1A is typically 330mV. One resistor sets output voltage from 0.4V to 32V. Output voltage tolerance is guaranteed to ?2% over line, load and temperature. The LT3086 is stable with ceramic output capacitors, requiring a minimum of 10?F.The LT3086?s programmable cable drop compensation cancels output voltage errors caused by resistive connections to the load. A master/slave configuration allows paralleling of multiple devices for higher load current and heat spreading without external ballast resistor requirements.Output current and temperature monitoring along with a power good flag provide system diagnostic and debug capability. Internal fault circuitry includes thermal shutdown and current limit with foldback. Thermal limit and current limit are also externally programmable.Packages include the thermally enhanced 16-lead (5mm ? 4mm) DFN, 16-lead TSSOP, 7-lead DD-Pak and 7-lead TO-220.APPLICATIONS Programmable Linear Regulator Post Regulator for Switching Supplies USB Power Supplies High Reliability Power Supplies

LTM4620AEV Demo Board | Dual Buck µModule Regulator, 5.5V ≤ VIN ≤ 16V, VOUT1 = 3.3V @ 13A, VOUT2 = 5V @ 13A

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 1759A features the LTM4620AEV, the high efficiency, high density, dual 13A, switch mode step-down power module regulator. The input voltage is from 5.5V to 16V. The output voltage is programmable from 0.6V to 5V. DC1759A can deliver 13A maximum current from each channel. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency at low load currents, the MODE jumper (JP1) selects pulse-skipping mode for noise sensitive applications or Burst Mode® operation in less noise sensitive applications. Two outputs can be connected in parallel for a single 26A output solution with optional jumper resistors. The board allows the user to program how its output ramps up and down through the TRACK/SS pin. The output can be set up to either coincidentally or ratiometrically track with another supply’s output. Remote output voltage sensing is available for improved output voltage regulation at the load point.

At all frequencies, a 180° phase shift between VOUT1 and the other two outputs is maintained, reducing input voltage ripple and component size. Programmable frequency allows for optimization between efficiency and external component size.
