The LTC1923 is a pulse width modulator intended for thermoelectric cooler (TEC) or heater applications requiring either unidirectional or bidirectional drive circuits. All of the necessary control circuitry and two sets of complementary output drivers are integrated into the LTC1923 to drive a full bridge, providing an efficient means of bidirectional current flow to the TEC. An accurate temperature control loop to stabilize the temperature of a laser diode system is easily achieved with the addition of just a few external components. Typical temperature setpoint accuracy of 0.1?C is achievable with the LTC1923. Adding an instrumentation amplifier front end allows setpoint stability of 0.01?C.The part features independent adjustable heating and cooling pulse-by-pulse current limit, current soft-start for controlled start-up, output slew rate control to reduce system noise, differential current sense and voltage amplifiers and a host of auxiliary circuits to protect the laser and provide redundant system monitoring.Applications Laser-Based Fiber Optic Links Medical Instruments CPU Temperature Regulators

The LTC4007 is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage charger controller for 3- or 4-cell lithium-ion batteries. The PWM controller uses a synchronous, quasi-constant frequency, constant off-time architecture that will not generate audible noise even when using ceramic capacitors. Charging current is programmable to ?4% accuracy using a programming resistor. Charging current can also be monitored as a voltage across the programming resistor. The output float voltage is pin programmed for cell count (3 cells or 4 cells) and chemistry (4.2V/4.1V). A timer, programmed by an external resistor, sets the charge termination time. Charging is automatically restarted when cell voltage falls below 3.9V/cell.LTC4007 includes a thermistor input, which suspends charging if an unsafe temperature condition is detected. If the cell voltage is less than 2.5V, a low-battery indicator asserts and can be used to program a trickle charge current to safely charge depleted batteries. The FAULT pin is also asserted and charging terminates if the low-battery condition persists for more than 1/4 of the total charge time. The LT1373 is a low supply current high frequency current mode switching regulator. It can be operated in all standard switching configurations including boost, buck, flyback, forward, inverting and ?Cuk.? A 1.5A high efficiency switch is included on the die, along with all oscillator, control and protection circuitry. All functions of the LT1373 are integrated into 8-pin SO/PDIP packages.Compared to the 500kHz LT1372, which draws 4mA of quiescent current, the LT1373 switches at 250kHz, typically consumes only 1mA and has higher efficiency. High frequency switching allows for small inductors to be used. All surface mount components consume less than 0.6 square inch of board space.New design techniques increase flexibility and maintain ease of use. Switching is easily synchronized to an external logic level source. A logic low on the shutdown pin reduces supply current to 12?A. Unique error amplifier circuitry can regulate positive or negative output voltage while maintaining simple frequency compensation techniques. Nonlinear error amplifier transconductance reduces output overshoot on start-up or overload recovery. Oscillator frequency shifting protects external components during overload conditions.Applications Boost Regulators CCFL Backlight Driver Laptop Computer Supplies Multiple Output Flyback Supplies Inverting Supplies

The LTC4054 is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger for single cell lithium-ion batteries. Its ThinSOT package and low external component count make the LTC4054 ideally suited for portable applications. Furthermore, the LTC4054 is specifically designed to work within USB power specifications. No external sense resistor is needed, and no blocking diode is required due to the internal MOSFET architecture. Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit the die temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current can be programmed externally with a single resistor. The LTC4054 automatically terminates the charge cycle when the charge current drops to 1/10th the programmed value after the final float voltage is reached. When the input supply (wall adapter or USB supply) is removed, the LTC4054 automatically enters a low current state, dropping the battery drain current to less than 2?A. The LTC4054 can be put into shutdown mode, reducing the supply current to 25?A.Other features include charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge and a status pin to indicate charge termination and the presence of an input voltage. The LT3464 is a micropower step-up DC/DC converter with integrated Schottky diode and output disconnect packaged in an 8-lead low profile (1mm) SOT-23. The small package size, high level of integration, and the use of tiny SMT components yield a solution size of less than 40mm?. The LT3464 has a typical current limit of 115mA as well as fast switching speed to allow the use of a chip inductor and small ceramic capacitors. The internal PNP disconnects the output load from the input during shutdown, and also provides output short-circuit protection. An auxiliary reference input allows the user to override the internal 1.25V feedback reference with any lower value, allowing full control of the output voltage during operation. This device features a low 25?A quiescent current, which is further reduced to less than 0.5?A in shutdown. A current limited fixed off-time control scheme conserves operating current, resulting in high efficiency over a broad range of operating current. The rugged 36V switch and output disconnect circuitry allow outputs up to 34V to be easily generated in a simple boost topology.Applications OEL Panel Bias LCD Bias Handheld Computers Battery Backup Digital Cameras Cellular Phones
