AD5242BRZ10

Part Number : AD5242BRZ10

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5241 / AD52421 provide a single-/dual-channel, 256-position, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer, trimmer, or variable resistor. Each VR offers a completely programmable value of resistance between the A terminal and the wiper, or the B terminal and the wiper. For the AD5242, the fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 10 kΩ, 100 kΩ, or 1 MΩ has a 1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance. The nominal temperature coefficient of both parts is 30 ppm/°C.Wiper position programming defaults to midscale at system power on. When powered, the VR wiper position is programmed by an I2C-compatible, 2-wire serial data interface. Both parts have two extra programmable logic outputs available that enable users to drive digital loads, logic gates, LED drivers, and analog switches in their system. The AD5241 / AD5242 are available in surface-mount, 14-lead SOIC and 16-lead SOIC packages and, for ultracompact solutions, 14-lead TSSOP and 16-lead TSSOP packages. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended temperature range of −40°C to +105°C.APPLICATIONS Multimedia, video, and audio Communications Mechanical potentiometer replacement Instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment Programmable voltage-to-current conversion Line impedance matching

For other gain settings between 1 and 1000 only a single resistor is required. The AD524 input is fully protected for both power on and power off fault conditions. The AD524 IC instrumentation amplifier is available in four different versions of accuracy and operating temperature range. The economical 'A' grade, the low drift 'B' grade and lower drift, higher linearity 'C' grade are specified from -25°C to +85°C. AD5262BRUZ20

Part Number : AD5262BRUZ20

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5260 / AD5262 provide a single- or dual-channel, 256- position, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device.1 These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. Each channel of the AD5260/AD5262 contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the SPI-compatible serial-input register. The resistance between the wiper and either end point of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. The variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 20 Ω, 50 Ω, or 200 Ω has a nominal temperature coefficient of 35 ppm/°C. Unlike the majority of the digital potentiometers in the market, these devices can operate up to 15 V or ±5 V provided proper supply voltages are furnished. Each VR has its own VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. These VR latches are updated from an internal serial-to-parallel shift register, which is loaded from a standard 3-wire serial-input digital interface. The AD5260 contains an 8-bit serial register whereas the AD5262 contains a 9-bit serial register. Each bit is clocked into the register on the positive edge of the CLK pin. The AD5262 address bit determines the corresponding VR latch to be loaded with the last eight bits of the data word during the positive edging of CS strobe. A serial data output pin at the opposite end of the serial register enables simple daisy-chaining in multiple VR applications without additional external decoding logic. An optional reset pin (PR) forces the wiper to the midscale position by loading 0x80 into the VR latch. The AD5260 / AD5262 are available in thin surface-mount 14-lead TSSOP and 16-lead TSSOP packages. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.APPLICATIONS Mechanical potentiometer replacement Instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment Stereo channel audio level control Programmable voltage-to-current conversion Programmable filters, delays, time constants Line impedance matching Low resolution DAC replacement

These DACs utilize data readback, allowing the user to read the contents of the DAC register viathe DB pins. On power-up, the internal register and latches arefilled with 0s and the DAC outputs are at zero scale. As a result of manufacturing with a CMOS submicron process, they offer excellent 4-quadrant multiplication characteristics, with large signal multiplying bandwidths of up to 10 MHz.The applied external reference input voltage (VREF) determines thefull-scale output current. An integrated feedback resistor (RFB)provides temperature tracking and full-scale voltage outputwhen combined with an external I-to-V precision amplifier. While these devices are upgrades of the AD5424 / AD5433 /AD5445 in multiplying bandwidth performance, they have alatched interface and cannot be used in transparent mode. The AD5424 is available in a small, 20-lead LFCSP and a small,16-lead TSSOP, while the AD5433 and AD5445 DACs are availablein a small, 20-lead LFCSP and a small, 20-lead TSSOP.The EVAL-AD5445SDZ evaluation board is available forevaluating DAC performance.
