MAX25601DAUI/V+T

Part Number : MAX25601DAUI/V+T

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX25601A/B/C/D is a synchronous boost controller followed by a synchronous buck LED controller. The 4.5V to 40V input voltage range of the boost controller is ideal for automotive applications, and acts as a pre-boost power supply for the second-stage buck LED controller. The synchronous boost is a current-mode controller that can be be paralleled with another device to provide higher output power. A SYNCOUT pin provides the clock to drive the RT/SYNCIN pin of the other device, enabling two-phase 180-degree out-of-phase operation. The boost converter can be programmed with a switching frequency of 200kHz to 2.2MHz. Spread spectrum is included to reduce EMI. An internal digital soft-start feature is provided to enable a smooth power up of the boost output. Protection features like hiccup mode, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown are provided. The synchronous buck LED controller uses Maxim's F3 Architecture, a proprietary average-current-mode control scheme to regulate the inductor current at a constant switching frequency without any control-loop compensation. Inductor current is sensed in the bottom synchronous n-channel MOSFET. The device operates over a wide 4.5V to 65V input range at switching frequencies as high as 1MHz. Both analog and PWM dimming are included. LED current can be monitored on the IOUTV pin. Both controllers have high- and low-side gate drivers with at least 1A peak source and sink-current capability. Adaptive non-overlap control logic prevents shoot-through currents during transition. Both the boost and the buck faults are monitored on the active-low FLT pin.The MAX25601A/C is available in a 32-pin SWTQFN package and the MAX25601B/D is available in a 28-pin TSSOP package. The 32-pin package features an additional switch control that can be used in high-beam/low-beam and heads-up display applications.ApplicationsAutomotive Exterior Lighting: High-Beam/Low-Beam/ Signal/Position Lights, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), Matrix Light, Pixel Light, and Other Adaptive Front-Light AssembliesCommercial, Industrial, and Architectural Lighting

MAX25605AUP/V+

Part Number : MAX25605AUP/V+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX25605 is a six-channel automotive sequential LED controller. The device implements a sequential turn function or any other sequential light animation without the use of a microcontroller or software. The MAX25605 integrates six cascoded low RDSON n-channel MOSFETs suitable for LED lighting applications up to 750mA. Each switch supports up to three series LEDs per switch. The entire LED string voltage supported is up to 60V. The n-channel MOSFETs are divided into two groups of three, allowing a single device to sequence either one or two strings of LEDs. Integrated gate drivers and level shifters for the switches are supplied by an internal charge-pump regulator, supporting buck-boost and boost-to-battery applications, in addition to ground-referenced LED driver topologies.Sequencing functionality and timing is programmed by connecting resistors to the A0, A1, A2, and CLK inputs. Programming options include: dimming up/down, short LED threshold, multi-device sequence position, dimming frequency, and fade duration. The optional logarithmic fade feature allows for gradually turning the LEDs on or off. The sequence can be disabled by pulling the enable input low. With EN pulled low, the switches are open and the LED driver current flows through the entire LED string. Each switch also integrates single-LED fault detection, asserting a fault flag in case of shorted LEDs, open LEDs, or open wires between the sequencer and the LED string. Additionally, up to 16 devices can be sequenced together through the use of a SYNC input. The MAX25605 operates over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range and is available in a 20-pin 4mmx4mm side-wettable TQFN and a 20-pin TSSOP package with exposed pad.ApplicationsHardware-Based Lighting AnimationSequential Turn Signal Lights

MAX25606AUP/V+

Part Number : MAX25606AUP/V+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX25606 6-switch matrix manager IC for automotive lighting applications includes a 6-switch array for bypassing individual LEDs in a single- or dual-string application. It features six individually controlled n-channel MOSFET switches with each switch having an on-resistance of 0.2Ω and rated to withstand 16V. A single current source can be used to power all the LEDs connected in series. Individual LEDs can be dimmed by turning on and off the bypass switches across each LED. The device can also be configured in two string applications with three switches in series per string. Each switch can be connected across one, two, or three LEDs in series. It also allows for parallel connection of two switches to bypass high-current LEDs. The IC also includes an internal charge pump that powers the gate drive for the switches. The IC features a universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) communication interface. Each switch can be turned on, turned off, or PWM modulated with 12 bits of PWM duty cycle adjustment. Transitions between two different PWM settings can either happen instantly or a logarithmic fade transition can be applied. The logarithmic fade algorithm is built into the device and only requires a single software command. The IC features open-LED protection as well as open and short LED fault reporting through the serial interface. The device is available in a 20-pin 4x4mm side wettable TQFN and a 20-pin thin shrink small-outline package (TSSOP) with exposed pad. The MAX25612/MAX25612B is available in a space-saving (4mm x 4mm), 20-pin side-wettable TQFN or a 20-pin TSSOP package and is specified to operate overthe -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.ApplicationsAutomotive Exterior Lighting:Commercial, Industrial, and Architectural LightingDaytime Running Lights (DRLs)Fog Light and Adaptive Front-Light AssembliesHigh-Beam/Low-Beam/Signal/Position Lights

MAX25612BATP/VY+

Part Number : MAX25612BATP/VY+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX25612/MAX25612B is a single-channel high-brightness LED (HB LED) driver for automotive front-light applications such as high beam, low beam, daytime running light (DRL), turn indicator, fog light and other LED lights. It can take an input voltage from 5V to 48V and can drive a string of LEDs with a maximum output voltage of 65V. The MAX25612/MAX25612B is fully synchronous and is suitable for boost and buck-boost applications that need synchronous rectification providing efficiencies greater than 90%.The MAX25612/MAX25612B senses output current at the high side of the LED string. High-side current sensing is required to protect against shorts from the output to the ground or battery input. It is also the most flexible scheme for driving LEDs, allowing boost, high-side buck, or buck-boost mode configurations. The PWM input provides LED dimming ratios of up to 5000:1, and the ICTRL input provides additional analog dimming capability in the MAX25612/MAX25612B. The MAX25612/MAX25612B also includes a active-low FLT flag that indicates open string, shorted string, and thermal shutdown. The MAX25612/MAX25612B has built-in spread-spectrum modulation for improved electromagnetic compatibility performance. The MAX25612/MAX25612B is available in a space-saving (4mm x 4mm), 20-pin side-wettable TQFN or a 20-pin TSSOP package and is specified to operate overthe -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.ApplicationsAutomotive Exterior Lighting:Commercial, Industrial, and Architectural LightingDaytime Running Lights (DRLs)Fog Light and Adaptive Front-Light AssembliesHigh-Beam/Low-Beam/Signal/Position Lights
