Description

The MAX20730 is a fully integrated, highly efficient switchingregulator with PMBus™ for applications operating from4.5V to 16V and requiring up to 25A (max) load. Thissingle-chip regulator provides extremely compact, highefficiencypower-delivery solutions with high-precisionoutput voltages and excellent transient response fornetworking, datacom, and telecom equipment.The IC offers a broad range of programmable featuresthrough either the PMBus or a capacitor and resistorconnected to a dedicated programming pin. Using thisfeature, the operation can be optimized for a specificapplication, reducing the component count and/or settingappropriate trade-offs between the regulator’s performanceand system cost. Ease of programming enables using thesame design for multiple applications.The IC includes protection and telemetry features. Positiveand negative cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection andovertemperature protection ensure a rugged design.Input undervoltage lockout shuts down the device toprevent operation when the input voltage is out ofspecification. A status pin provides an output signal toshow that the output voltage is within range and thesystem is regulating.
