DN-53A Design Considerations for Synchronizing Multiple UC3637 PWMs

Texas Instruments

As motion control and power interface systems become more complex, the need for more sophisticated control circuitry arises. One common application involves the need for synchronizing multiple pulse width modulators (PWMs). This requirement may result from the need to eliminate beat frequencies when multiple PWMs reside on the same printed circuit board, or from timing considerations in redundant systems where voting between drivers is required.

The UC3637 is an extremely versatile PWM used in many motor control and power driver applications, and the need for synchronization often arises. In order to properly accomplish this, a few simple design rules must be followed. These rules apply primarily to resetting the part’s current limit latches.

Migrating From MSP430FW42x Scan Interface to MSP430FR6x8x/FR5x8x ESI (Rev. A)

Texas Instruments
The purpose of this application report is to facilitate the migration of designs based on the MSP430FW42x Scan Interface (SIF) to the MSP430FR5xx/FR6xx Extended Scan Interface (ESI). This document describes the main differences between the two peripheral modules and provides migration solutions covering both software and hardware aspects.

Next-Generation BTL/Futurebus Transceivers Allow Single-Sided SMT Manufacturing (Rev. C)

Texas Instruments
BTL- and Futurebus-compatible transceivers and switching level meet the requirements of today?s high-speed data-communications and provide significant performance advantages over conventional backplane implementations. This document discusses the current and next generation of BTL/Futurebus Transceivers and the design trade-offs required when using these devices.

Connecting Bluetooth to the OMAP5910

Texas Instruments
There are numerous applications that require the addition of a Bluetooth™ wireless interface for both audio and data applications to the OMAP5910. This is a fairly straightforward effort that requires very little external logic thanks to circuitry in the OMAP5910 that is perfect for supporting a Bluetooth interface. This application note describes how by using a Bluetooth module the Blueto

TMS320F240 DSP Solution for Obtaining Resolver Angular Position and Speed

De-Interlacing and YUV 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 Conversion on DM6446 Using the Resizer (Rev. B)

Texas Instruments
Video signals captured directly from charge-coupled device (CCD) cameras naturally have interlaced effects and are in a 4:2:2 interleaved format. They typically need to be converted to a 4:2:0 planar format before being encoded because most video compression standards accept input only in 4:2:0 format. It is better to reduce or remove the interlaced artifacts in the original video signal when fe

Solutions for LED Driver Overvoltage Protection

Texas Instruments
Boost LED drivers are often used to drive LEDs in series. If an LED fails while open, overvoltage protection (OVP) is necessary to avoid the damage to a boost integrated circuit (IC) or output capaci

PFC Family Differences UCC3817A/18A/19A and UCC3817/18/19

Texas Instruments
The UCC3817A/18A/19A family of PFC controllers (UCC3817A family) is pin for pin compatible with the UCC3817/18/19 family of devices (UCC3817 family). The output stage of UCC3817A family has been updated to allow use of a smaller external gate drive resistor values. For some power supply designs where an adequately high enough gate drive resistor can not be used the UCC3817A family offers a more r
