Description

The transmission of video sequences is enabled by compressing the video content with different video encoding algorithms at the source and decoding the stream at the destination. The compression process discards part of the original information and decreases the video quality of the decoded stream.

Measuring the video quality is measuring how close the decoded stream is to the original stream.
