High Current Four Phase Synchronous Buck 5V@55A Reference Design
Description
Two TPS40140 control ICs are used to build a four phase synchronous buck converter. The input voltage is 12V with an output of 5V at up to 55A. A four phase design allows for very high efficiency and helps to spread the heat out on the PCB. The design was built and tested using PMP2064 PCBs: please see that design for PCB and gerber info.
