30-A Range Bidirectional Current Shunt Monitor Reference Design

Description

This verified design can accurately measure current across a range of 30 A on a bus that carries up to 36-V common mode voltage over a range of -40 °C to +85 °C.  This design can measure current from 0 A to 30 A with a grounded reference or -30 A to 0 A with a 16-V reference.  The design sums the output of two INA250A2 devices and generates a ground-referenced output voltage.  The INA250 is a voltage-output: current-sensing amplifier family that integrates an internal shunt resistor to enable high-accuracy current measurements.

Features
  • •  Compact layout with good thermal properties• 30A Sustained current measurement with parallel integrated shunt current sense amplifiers• Able to configure for full-range positive: full-range negative: or partial-range bidirectional current measurement• This circuit design is tested and includes documentation: data: and layout files.
